Flame Princess (first name phoebe and occasionally called FP) is the princess and ruler of the Fire Kingdom, as well as Finns's former love interest. She is the second most recurring princess after Princess Bubblegum. Jake asks Flambo if he knows any princesses that are Finns age so he can fix his broken heart, he introduces Jake to Flame Princess. Flame Princess was locked away in a lantern in the main chamber of the Fire Kingdom when Jake first encounters her. It is later revealed that her father, the Flame King put her there on Princess Bubblegum’s advice when she was an infant, and she did not come out for 14 years. She has a short temper, trust issues, and a heat core that can destroy the world if overblown with emotions. She is also now close friends with Cinnamon Bun. Due to the events of "Princess Day," she is considered a registered princess.

Personality and Traits[]

Flame Princess has a volatile personality; she usually has a calm demeanor, though with rather frequent tendencies to sudden and violent mood swings. She is described as "passionate" by Finn, "evil" by the Flame King, and "intense" by Pendleton Ward. The Flame King also remarks that she is difficult to control. She seems to be very sensitive and quick to judge. She is also prone to unprovoked fits of aggression, as shown when she throws fireballs at her citizens just for whispering. Flame Princess is also impressionable in a positive way. She is very happy when Finn calls her beautiful. She was also interested when Jake was giving her gifts in the episode "Incendium" and excited when her dad let her date "Prince Finn," though this excitement quickly turns to anger when "Prince Finn" rejects her.

In the episode "Hot to the Touch," Flame Princess shows curiosity about her new surroundings by examining flowers. This sets them on fire and she seems a bit surprised by the reaction, indicating she doesn't know much about lands other than the Fire Kingdom. At the end of the same episode, she shows that she likes Finn, but thinks that they can't be together because they are opposite elementals, calling Finn "a water elemental" because of the tear that she felt from him.

In "Burning Low," she seems to be calmer and able to handle a part of her flame being doused. This is illustrated when Finn jumps into the water while his foot is on fire, but she doesn't react. Although this may have just been a mistake that the creators of the show made.

Abilities[]

Being a fire elemental, Flame Princess is able to conjure up flames at will, transform other citizens of the Fire Kingdom into flambits, transform into a larger, more dangerous form composed purely of fire, hurl fireballs that can vary in size, and separate her body into distinctly separate groups of flames (shown when she ambushes Finn in "Hot to the Touch.") She appears to be able to consciously extinguish fire she has created; she does this when she notices Finn crying. She can also float and move very quickly, both of which leave a trail of flames.

Her weakness is water, shown after unintentionally setting off some of Princess Bubblegum's liquid pyrotechnics and when she puts her hand into a pond. The liquid pyrotechnics caused her to become unconscious, and touching the water in the pool caused her pain. The fires that Flame Princess makes are a part of her, and stomping on or dousing the fire hurts her, although in "Burning Low" Finn puts out a fire to his leg without harming her.

She is physically unstable. If her elemental matrix is exposed to extreme romance, she would burn through the Earth's crust and set off a series of reactions, causing a meltdown that would burn up the planet from the inside. This reaction was started when Finn kissed her in "Burning Low," but the crisis was averted. She can use her fingers to unleash small blasts of fire and throw disks of fire as seen in "Ignition Point."

She can emit a continuous flamethrower from her hands, but the length of time she can sustain it is debatable. She has a Scatter Fire ability, in which she emits four, manipulatible, bolts of fire. She can also make a Flame Sword, in which she concentrates an isolated flame, extending from her arm, that is intense enough to glow blue. Immediately following that, she used a Dash ability that sent massive pieces of shrapnel from a steel door (which she had just cleaved into four pieces) in all directions, as seen in "Vault of Bones." Also in the episode, she uses Heat Sense to sense that a tree is not made of wood. She does not leave a fire trail when she walks now, and she says she is a "42" (out of 100) at sending very weak, controlled bolts of fire. This indicates that she has gained considerable control over her abilities since "Burning Low," as seen in "Vault of Bones."

She has full manipulation of her body, morphing it into asymmetrical flames at will. Her father also has this ability, and it may be the norm among fire elementals.

She can use her fingers to unleash small blasts of fire and throw disks of fire as seen in "Ignition Point." She can fire a large blast of fire, let fire come out of the ground and even turn parts of her body into a mass of fire to get taller, or extending her attacks. In "Blue Flames" Flame Princess connected with her roots and accepted who she was. Because of that she gained the power to use blue fire in combat, by Blue Flame God. She hasn't displayed her blue flame powers, but, as said by the Blue Flame God, it mostly acts for boosting her current abilities.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Flame King[]

Her father, the king of flame.

Flame King, understands his own daughter as "evil," having said so during "Incendium" even in introducing her to "Finn" (Jake molding part of his body into a Finn-shape) when they first meet. In "Ignition Point" Flame Princess admits to hating that her father locked her away in the lantern for all these years and thus refuses to go back to Fire Kingdom after she finally leaves it behind when meeting Finn.

However, Flame King's concept of his daughter being evil is merely a factor of all Fire Kingdom citizens being evil and traitorous to one another, with him believing her like others yet with physical instability that would cause harm to anyone around her. He slightly could believe his daughter could gain a "good" alignment if she hung around people like Finn, but he doesn't know if it could work due to Flame Princess' fiery nature.

He later attempts to send subliminal messages to her while she sleeps by saying "evil," but it quickly stops when Flame Princess wakes up and sees this, leaving her shocked. He does so again at the start of "Vault of Bones" but stops upon realizing that she's not alone, causing Finn to look for a way to counteract his influence.

Flame King was also the one who killed her mother, as revealed in "Blue Flames", and that caused her current psychical condition.

In "Earth & Water", when Flame Princess was born, Flame King feared she would become so powerful that she would overthrow him. So he had one of his servants to take her to the woods for her to perish. However, the servant took pity on her and gave her to a woodsman, but she wandered around and proceeded to burn the woodsman house and the surrounding forest. She was found by Princess Bubblegum, who brought her back to her father, where the Princess demanded he control his daughter. So, he locked her in a oil lamp-like cage. When Flame Princess discovered this, she and Cinnamon Bun went to the Fire Kingdom, overthrew her father, and locked him in the same cage she was once in.

Azarin[]

The mother of Flame Princess, Azarin, has been always very supportive for her. Azarin was always very nice to Flame Princess, unlike her father was to her. And because she loved her mother so much, her personality was completely twisted when she was killed by her father. But when she saw the spirit of her mother again, she knew to go on and become a good person.

Niran[]

Niran is the owner of Flame Princess, she was owned the flamebit since she was a little girl. However when Flame Princess moved out of the Fire Palace, Niran had to stay there and now had became the pet of Flame King. When Finn and Jake come to get Flame Princess in "Into the Inferno" she wants to keep them away because she wants to protect Flame Princess and keep her with her. However Niran eventually moves into Flame Princess's home, and decreased her size to do so.

Siblings[]

Flame Princess has two unnamed younger brothers and one unnamed older brother serving in the military.

Extended Family[]

Flame Princess has two cousins, Furnius and Torcho, who hate her father because he killed their father in order to take over the Fire Kingdom.

She also has an aunt and uncle who are very judgmental.

Friends[]

Jake[]

Jake enters the Fire Kingdom to court Flame Princess on behalf of Finn, who is feeling heartbroken after having been pushed away by his previous love interest, Princess Bubblegum.

Jake sings her a song and accidentally kills her father's jester by spilling water on him, both of which she apparently enjoyed; however, she does not react much when Prince Finn kills Jake.

In "Burning Low." Jake does not interact much with Flame Princess but they seem to be friends and Jake has approved of her; he even helps Finn in courting her with a poem.

In "Ignition Point," they interact much more and they seem to be comfortable with each other; it was Jake who suggested going to the Fire Kingdom to get her the scented candles.

Jake seems glad to see Finn happy with Flame Princess, as he was the one to seek her after Finn was rejected by Princess Bubblegum. Jake also keeps his distance when Finn and Flame Princess are together, as shown in "Burning Low" when Finn asks Jake if he wants to check out Flame Princess' new house and he politely refuses and tells them to go ahead. Also in "Vault of Bones," while Flame Princess and Finn are playing cards, Jake offers them chamomile tea to show his support of their relationship.

In Jake Suit, Flame Princess thinks it was pretty hardcore of Finn for enduring Jake controlling Finn's body and embarrassing him in front of her and her less-evil family members by being semi-naked and singing the Baby Finn Song.

Lumpy Space Princess

Lumpy Space Princess and Flame Princess are best friends with each other. At first Lumpy Space Princess was afraid of Flame Princess and thought she was wierd and always said mean things to her, but Finn helped the two of them become friends with each other and they became the best of friends.

In the episode "Fire Friend" Flame Princess and LSP first became friends with each other.

In the episode "Yet Another Five More Short Graybles" Lumpy Space Princess was in Flame Princess's house helping her decide on what to wear on her date with Finn.

Cinnamon Bun

In the episode "Earth and Water" Flame Princess and Cinnamon Bun became friends because they both hated Princess Bubblegum. Cinnamon Bun stopped being a servant of Princess Bubblegum and became an assistant of Flame Princess when she took over the Fire Kingdom because she was much nicer and more respectful to him.

NOTE: Cinnamon Bun actually admitted his love for Flame Princess in the above episode and says he will stand by her side as her knight forever, and she smiles and holds his hand as she walks back to her recently reclaimed throne.

Marsha[]

Flame Princess and Marsha seem to be very good friends, although one is a demon while the other is a fire elemental. Flame Princess has ridden Marsha before and Marsha doesn't at all mind. However, they show somewhat of a friendly rivalry, espicially when Marsha refers to FP as "chicken".

Marsha, like Cinnamon Bun, is Flame Princess' right-hand girl. Marsha keeps the Fire People in line for Flame Princess and is very loyal to her.

Cinnamon Bun[]

In "Earth & Water," when Flame Princess submitted herself to experiments by Princess Bubblegum to control her emotions, Princess Bubblegum had to leave to help Finn and Jake so she had no choice but to put Cinnamon Bun in charge of the experiment. However, he brought Flame Princess to his house to talk. Liking his honesty and after recalling that it was Princess Bubblegum who had her father put her in the cage where she spent her childhood, they both went to the Fire Kingdom and overthrew the Flame King and enacted a policy where lies weren't allowed.

Love Interest[]

Finn[]

Flame Princess does not actually meet Finn in person until the very end of "Incendium." After she is doused with Liquid Pyrotechnics, she unconsciously falls off the roof of the Tree Fort. Finn catches her as she is falling and brings her inside. She regains consciousness and angrily asks Finn why he doesn't like her; Finn replies that he does like her, which causes her to blush in surprise. Confused by Finn's apparent fickleness, she slaps him and warns him never to mess with her again—unaware that Jake was the original "Prince Finn."

In "Hot to the Touch," Finn wanders into the woods to search for the Princess, after asking Jake about her and saying he really likes her. When Finn finds Flame Princess he watches her from a bush at first, calling her innocent like "the steam off a puppy's nose searching for ham in the snow" and "a cute little flower." She touches a pool of water, hurting herself, and Finn jumps out from the bush to her aid. He then tells her that he was worried about her and thinks that she's beautiful. This causes her to glow, literally and figuratively, causing some fire to spread around Finn and herself. Finn puts out the fires in a panic which causes her pain, causing Flame Princess to believe that Finn is intentionally hurting her. She leaves in a huff without allowing Finn a chance to explain, not listening to his claims that he was not trying to hurt her. After a brief chase, she concludes Finn is trying to impede her, so she decides to turn the Grass Lands into her own fire kingdom. She begins by heading for Goblin Kingdom to set it and its citizens on fire. Finn and Jake attempt to stop her with Robo suits made by Neptr, but Finn only attempts to talk her out of it rather than put out her fires. When Finn realizes he cannot make her understand his feelings, he tears a hole in his robo suit and cries wishing he could "just like a girl." One of his tears falls onto the flames as she is walking away from him, causing her to turn around and witness him crying. She becomes convinced that he is a "Water Elemental," saying that all he does is cry and cry all the time. She comes to the conclusion that they are opposite elementals and that even if they like each other, they would hurt each other. However, Finn suggests that they try to make it work and that he can take it. She seems happy that he would want to defy nature for her, and both lean in to hug one another. As they hug, Finn gets burned and pushes her away. She looks at him appearing unsure, and then leaves saying, "Bye, Finn."

In "Burning Low," she and Finn are dating. Finn helps her build a new house in the Grass Lands out of wood scraps, and she tells him that she loves it. Her flames trail over to Finn's foot and he is surprised to realize that it doesn't hurt as bad as it used to; though, once the flames crawl up his leg he screams in pain and jumps into the water. Once he's out of the water, Finn and Flame Princess hug; although, Finn has to wear many layers of tinfoil to protect himself. While walking home, Finn asks Jake for advice about dating, to which Jake explains the concept of "tiers" and tells Finn that he should move on to Tier 2, which is kissing. Later in the episode, Finn goes on a date with Flame Princess (off-screen) and tells Jake that he wasn't able to kiss her yet (though he got 5 hugs), so he is still on Tier 1. Jake advises Finn to write a poem for Flame Princess in order to move things along. Finn tries to think about Flame Princess' qualities, and he ends up going outside and watching the sunrise, which gives him inspiration to write. He takes the finished poem over to Flame Princess' new house and reads it to her. After he's done they stare into each other's eyes and kiss. The kiss triggers a reaction and causes her to burn so hot that she melts through the ground. As she's falling, Finn grabs Jake's arm, ties it around himself and jumps down after her. Flame Princess' reaction is halted by lack of oxygen, and when Finn catches up to her she is extinguished and passed out. Though nearly out of oxygen himself, Finn picks her up and tells that he needs her to be okay. He then gives her artificial respiration, which causes her to re-ignite (though Finn passes out from lack of oxygen). Jake pulls them out of the hole and both of them are all right (parts of Finn's face are burned from the kiss). Finn picks up a rock and kisses it, then hands it to Flame Princess who kisses it as well.

In the episode "Cavern of Fears" Finn and Flame Princess were seen still dating and being in love with each other. They seemed to have been in a really deep relationship with each other already because they were both told each other all of their secrets to each other. They grew closer already at the very near beginning of the episode where they both found out that they both had the exact same fear as each other. Finn and Flame Princess were talking to their pets about each other. They also went to the Cavern of Fears alone together to get over their fears and Finn was comforting her to help her overcome her fears. They both found a lot of embarassing things and secrets about each other and kept them secrets with each other because they had that much trust with each other.

In the episode "Playing with Fire" Finn and Flame Princess went to the fair and Finn was going to win a toy for her. Finn also worked hard to save Flame Princess from the evil clowns.

In "Ignition Point," Finn and Jake travel to the Fire Kingdom to retrieve Flame Princess' scented candles. While there, Finn finds out that Flame Princess is evil, but he seems pleased to know that she could possibly be turned to good.

In "King Worm" Finn had a dream about being on a date with Flame Princess. Flame Princess was being mean to Finn, dominating and abusing him although this was only a dream so it wasn't really her.

In "Reign of Gunters," Finn takes the advice of a dating book called Mind Games and tries to act more mysterious. In "Vault of Bones," she went to theVault of Bones with Finn to prove to herself that she's good. After a Giant Goo Skull captures Finn, she rescues him and calls him her boyfriend for the first time. At first, Finn thought he was going to be burned alive because of how Flame Princess approached the Goo Skull, but after he's rescued, Flame Princess says she would never hurt her boyfriend.

In "Jake Suit", she invited Finn at her house to meet her less-evil family members. She totally didn't even mind that he made a fool of himself once she found out it was because of a bet with Jake. She believes that Finn will win and cheers him on, giving him the support he needs to survive the final stretch of Jake's gauntlet.

In "Enter the Inferno" Finn saves Flame Princess from her father, when she was taken away to the Fire Kingdom again. It is proven that Flame Princess slowly was turning good. In "Finn's Missing" Jake said not to tell Flame Princess about Finn's disappearance because she would be too worried, indicating their relation keeps getting stronger. In "Couple Night" Flame Princess shown to really love Finn, and Finn seems to doesn't even care about PB anymore, however in "You're So Hot" she did shown to be very flirtatious, but still loves Finn.

In "Frost & Fire" they broke up.

In "Too Old," it is revealed Finn took Flame Princess's words the wrong way, and thought she had dumped him, and therefore made one last attempt at Princess Bubblegum. It failed as usual, and he told Jake he has to "Patch things up with Flame Princess." So it is unknown if they got back together or not, as Jake ominously stated Flame Princess could have already replaced Finn with a new boyfriend.

In "Earth & Water", Finn is still bummed out about his break up with Flame Princess. Princess Bubblegum tries to help Flame Princess become less destructive for destroying the Ice Kingdom, Flame Princess escapes with Cinnamon Bun and she overthrows Flame King and traps him in the lanetrn that she was once trapped in and takes over the Fire Kingdom. In the end, Flame Princess says that she's not mad at Finn anymore although she does'nt want to get back together with him but they can still be fri

In the episode "Flame Princess vs Princess Bubblegum, Flame Princess and Finn found out about her jealousy and attemts at ruining their relationship and they both got into a big fight that Flame Princess won.

However, he can communicate with her through sources of fire like her scented candles for example.

Marceline[]

In the episode "My Daughter vs Your Daughter" Marceline and Flame Princess got into a very destructive fight because of their fathers. Their fight became so huge and out of hand, that Glob, Gob, Grob, and Grod had to break them up before they destroyed everything. They both stopped fighting after that, however their rivalry still lived on. When Flame Princess and Marceline were cleaning up all the destruction they made, they both bet that their fathers could beat up the other father and Glob, Gob, Grob, and Grod destroyed the multiverse.

Appearance[]

Flame Princess has long orange-red hair that is like fire and as such flows above her head. Her skin is yellow-orange and she usually wears a long, sleeveless dress that touches the ground. At first, she doesn't wear shoes, though her dress usually hides her feet from view. She has two diamond-shaped, red gems; one on her forehead and the other on the front of her dress. The red gem on her dress is shown to be a part of her dress and not her exemplified when Flame Princess had a different outfit on in "Ignition Point." She has black eyes that sparkle white and yellow in the light of her fire. Her arms are also portrayed as thicker than the majority of characters.

When her flames are doused, her skin changes to a pinkish-gray hue, and her hair falls down her back and becomes a dull shade of maroon. Once in dry conditions, she returns to her normal appearance quickly. When Flame Princess is deprived of oxygen she turns a light shade of blue, as seen in "Burning Low."

In the episode "Ignition Point" Flame Princess tied her hair up in the back and had buns on the sides of her head. She also had a clear layer on her dress. Her skirt was shorter which revealed her feet which had red shoes.

In the episode "Vault of Bones" Flame Princess was wearing her hair down and she had a strapless dress. In the episode "Jealousy Jealous Do" She was dressed the same way she was in "Vault of Bones" only her hair was longer and she was wearing red shoes.

In the episode "Jealousy, Jealous Do" Flame Princess is dressed in nicer clothing. She has hear hair held back in a bun and she is wearing a strapless sparkling dress.

In the episode "Princess's Only" Flame Princess has her hair shorter and has it being held back some and has a red head band and her dress had fringes at the bottom and had more of a pattern around the skirting.

In the episode "Earth & Water" Flame Princess is wearing her hair long and down and she is wearing a big long hippie dress and is not wearing shoes.

In the episode "Earth & Water" Flame Princess is the queen of the Fire Kingdom. Her hair is bigger and her face looks more evil and she has a more royal and formal dress.

New Super Adventure Bros. Wii[]

Flame Princess appears in New Super Adventure Bros. Wii for the first time as a main hero and a playable character. The game begins as Marceline's birthday is being celebrated by the vampire queen and Princess Bubblegum themselves, Finn and Jake., Marsha, and Flame Princess. During the festivities, a massive cake is brought into the castle. As Marcy and Peebles approaches the cake, Lord Grim and the villains emerge out of the icing and successfully kidnap Marcy and PB (at this point of time, FP and the other heroes were stunned by the force released by the cake after it was thrown at the protagonists). FP bravely follows closely behind the twobrothers. (with Marsha behind him) as they set off on a quest to save Marceline and Princess Bubblegum.

Throughout the adventure, Flame Princess along with her allies would have to face many emnemies ranging from Dark Wolves to Demons. Eventually at some points of a world, FP would have to fight some of the mini-bosses in the games. Upon defeating all the mini-bosses, FP would find herself at Hunson's Castle at the end of World 8. After going into the castle, FP would have to fight Marsha herself. Eventually upon surviving the battle and causing Marsha to be defeated, FP along with his friends would be able to save the princess and the vampire queen.

In the ending sequence of the game, Flame Princess can be seen riding a hot air balloon alongside Marsha, PB and Jake (though the latter has his own balloon). Once Jake allows Finn and Marceline to ride in his balloon, they soon take off before he could get in; thus, causing him to be left behind. Fortunately, the three princesses invited Jake to ride in their balloon for the journey back to the Tree Fort.

Flame Princess is also a boss. FP is under the same spell Marsha is put under. She appears in World 2.

In the first fight, FP's arena is similar to Dark Princess' first arena except that it is filled with fire. Before battling FP, he is shocked that Finn made it to her and screams at Finn. In battle, FP will send out a wave of fire. If Finn doesn't jump, he'll lose apowerup or his life. Flame Princess will shoot fireballs and will hurt Finn if he comes in contact with it. Her casting speed is faster than Larry, but magic speed is the same. Like most other bosses, three hits on the head will defeat her. FP will leave the fortress and flee to her dad at the castle at the end.

In the second fight, the arena closes up and there are no hazards. However, Flame King appears to protect Flame Princess. Not only will Mario have to watch out for Flame Princess, but he also has to be careful of Flame King. After 3 attacks, Flame Princess is freed of her spell while Flame King is defeated and Finn claims the key that unlocks World 3.

This was never seen in an actual episode, but it was seen among a series some earlier prototypes the creaters made trying to find out a good costume for her to wear in the episode "Vault of Bones."

Fan Fun Costumes[]

Hot Dress - Flame Princess will have her hair down but have some up in the back and she'll have a hot gown.

Flame Prince - Flame Princess will be the genderswapped version of herself. She will have boy hair and a prince suit instead of a dress. This costume also comes with a replacment soundpack of Flame Prince's voice.

Water Princess - Flame Princess is entirely blue so that it looks like water and waves. There are white shine lines going across her and at the top of her hair, it is white like an ocean wave. However, this is just a joking fan-fiction of sorts and does not reference or make any connection to the actual Water Princess in any way.

Plant Princess - Flame Princess is all green so that it looks like grass and leaves. Her hair looks like grass and has grassy lines on it, and her dress looks like it is made of plants and singed tree bark.

Light Princess - Flame Princess is yellow so that it looks like fire burning from the light.

Dark Princess - Flame Princess is black so she looks like a creepy dark shadowy figure.

Sounds[]

These are the sounds that Flame Princess makes when doing certain things in the fight. The sounds are all taken from quotes she made in the show and are used to match the actions she makes. Some actions have more than one sound for them so it is not always the same thing every time.

"So Unfair!!!" when using anger.

"The Power of Destruction!!!" when using the power of destruction.

"YES! Feel my flames puny ones!" when using ultimate anger.

"That is the last time you hurt me!" when using ultimate anger.

"RAAAAAAGH!!!" when using ultimate anger.

"Infernooooooo BLAZE!!!" when using inferno blaze.

"SNAKE FIRE!" When using snake fire.

"AAAAAAAAAH!!!" when dying.

"WAAAAH!!!" when dying.

"Im so happy" when winning.

"You should never toy with the emotions of a fire elemental." when winning.

"I forgot how good it felt to destroy stuff." when winning

Adventure Time Game Creator[]

Flame Princess is a playable chatracter in this game. She wears the costume she wore in the episode "Vault of Bones" and her attacks are to throw fireballs and use the power of destruction. She is immune to lava and fire but water is deadly to her unless she uses a forcefield which gives her the ability to swim.

Trivia[]

  • Pendleton Ward and the show's cast first introduced Flame Princess at Comic-Con 2011.
  • Natasha Allegri has drawn Flame Prince, a gender-swapped version of Flame Princess, in her artwork, but he has yet to appear on the show. He will, however, appear in the Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake comic mini-series beginning in January.
  • Flame Princess is the only known princess to have invaded another kingdom by herself.
  • In the original storyboard for "Hot to the Touch," Flame Princess was supposed to kiss Finn; however, the idea was dropped and reused for "Burning Low."
  • When Flame Princess transforms into her larger form, her face resembles that of her father, the Flame King.
  • Flame Princess' appearance in "King Worm" is her first appearance in an episode without a fire-related title; this also marks Flame Princess' first minor appearance. However, this was only a dream version of her.
  • She wears a different outfit and begins wearing footwear in "Ignition Point" although this may have only been temporary because she wasn't wearing shoes in the episode "Vault of Bones"
  • Although it appears as if Flame Princess' hair is made of fire, it does not disappear when she is extinguished or wet; instead it falls to her back and behaves like normal hair.
  • Flame Princess seemed to have looked uglier in the episodes "Incendium" and "Hot to the Touch" but in the end of the episode "Hot to the Touch" Flame Princess lost her ugly and seemed to look pretty, just like she does in all of the other episodes. This may have been intentional because the creators of the show wanted you to think "Eh, she looks ugly" but Finn said he looked beyond her appearance and knew how she was much more beautiful on the inside if you just gave her a chance. When he did give her a chance and she did fall in love with him, that's when her "inner beauty" or whatever Finn was talking about, came to the outside. Ever since then, Flame Princess has looked normal and pretty even when she's angry.
  • Right now, she is technically not Finn's girlfriend anymore because she broke up with him in the episode "Frost and Fire" and it's stayed that way in the episodes "Earth and Water" and "Too Old."
    • Though they will get back together in later episodes.
  • She is one of the three characters to usually change the costume she's wearing in many episodes. The other ones being Princess Bubblegum and Marceline.
  • Her last name is Burns.
  • She is the Ice King's least favorite princess.

Appearances in outside media[]

  • There is a Pet Society costume of Flame Princess.
  • Flame Princess stars in an Adventure Time original graphic novel, where she embarks on her first adventures with Finn and Jake.
  • Flame Princess was mentioned in an episode of MAD in the episode 1600 Finn.
  • Flame Princess is a playable character in Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion 2.
  • Flame Princess is a playable character in MUGEN.
  • In an episode of Grojband, one girl was seen dressed as Flame Princess at the cosplay party.
