Ellie (real name Eleanor May Petrikov) is one of the main characters in the upcoming fanfiction; Beware the Frozen Heart. As her name indicates, Ellie is the oldest and only surviving niece of Simon Petrikov, who was better known as The Ice King along with being a childhood best friend of Marceline and former friend of Princess Bubblegum. She's acts distant and cold around new people, but once you get to know her, Ellie is a very intelligent, kind and calm 1,000+ year-old half demon who has been travelling around the world, only to return to the Candy Kingdom to repair her broken friendship with Princess Bubblegum.
History[]
Eleanor doesn't reveal much of her childhood, due to trust issues that can be linked to her past. But her reactions to certain memories shows how much her past means to her. This is what she has shared thus far...
Eleanor was born into a small family of a human mother named Lorraine Rose Petrikov, who was the twin sister of Simon Petrikov, who later became the Ice King, a demon father, who's name Ellie never mentions, and a younger sister named Samantha Petrikov. Eleanor's father was a loyal servant of Hunson Abadeer, and was his loyal messenger. Until he met Lorraine, and gave life to Ellie and her younger sister.
After the Mushroom War, when Ellie was only 4 years old, dying from radiation poisoning, Lorraine Petrikov abandoned her daughter in a fallout shelter, called the Clubhouse. There, Ellie learned to take care of herself and fought off any monsters, or mutants that would try and hurt her. During this time, Ellie became familiar of her surroundings and became interested with herbal remedies and teas.
One day, while staying at the Clubhouse, Ellie met Marceline, another human-demon hybrid just like her. Seeing that Marceline wasn't a threat, Ellie welcomed her to the Clubhouse and the two became instant friends.
Characteristics[]
Eleanor is a half-human/half-demon hybrid. Although being over 1,000 years old, she takes the physical appearance of a teenager or a young adult.
Personality[]
Due to living on her own, Eleanor has shown to be very independent and capable of taking care of herself. She also tends to be cold, quiet, aloof and very headstrong, refusing help from others.
Inside this tough exterior, Eleanor is kind, generous and compassionate - good to have around during a crisis as she knows how to remain calm and take control of the situation until it is resolved. Ellie is very caring and nurturing to others - however she has a habit of neglecting her own needs while giving to others. She is very intelligent and loves to learn - Ellie is quick to understand new concepts.
Eleanor tends to wear her heart on her sleeve- she feels anger intensely and joy quite well, but her sadness is silent and hardly, if ever, marked by tears. She hardly lets her rage control her and cheerfully remarks on the things that make her happy, but hardly says a word in her sadness, though it is visible to everyone. However, though she may feel sad, she never gives in to despair, always looking for a solution the right way. Her determination and little regard for pain can make her a powerful force to be reckoned with. Due to her calm nature, Eleanor is capable of keeping her emotions under control.
Alongside, Ellie is gracious and well-mannered, knowing just the right things to say and do. Although she doesn't look it, Ellie has high moral standards and doing the right thing is important to her, along with being a loyal friend and a faithful partner, gentle but not passionate.
Although strong-willed and loyal, Ellie makes an excellent counselor, psychologist, social worker as she is a good listener and can view others problems with empathy, clarity and a balanced analysis, seeing both sides while showing respect and caring.
In short, Eleanor is generally frank, fairly sociable but preferring peace at any price. She can be too self-effacing, modest and patient, and run the risk of being exploited by others. She may appear to be innocent and naïve but she is actually quite streetwise and astute - she can read others well, but often keeps it to herself.
Appearance[]
Eleanor shares a strong resemblance to her best friend, Marceline. Light blue-gray skin, crooked fangs and long, midnight black hair that sometimes leaves a short trail on the ground. She also has a tongue that is forked and three freckles under each eye.
In the episode "It Came from the Nightosphere", her hair is tied in a braid, which reveals that she has pointy ears. She is quite skinny with long limbs, long waist and small chest. She is about the same height as Marceline, along with sap green eyes.
Eleanor's general appearance, particularly her blue-gray skin, fangs, and pointy ears, is an apparent result of her demonic heritage, and she shares all of these characteristics with her father. From Eleanor's maternal side and her uncle, the episode "Betty" revealed that she possesses genes from a dark-skinned race, although evidently, the phenotype associated with these genes are recessive.
Her main outfit features a pair of black-rimmed glasses over her eyes, a black choker with a blue diamond pendant in the shape of a teardrop, a dark grey and red striped sweater-dress with her black sports bra revealing on her left shoulder, black pants, and red boots.
Eleanor wears different outfits in most of her episode appearances. Her style seems to be punk rock, emo or Gothic which associates with dark, cool colors, along with the occasional shades of red and pink. The reason she wears pink and red is for Marceline, in case she grows hungry.
